Apex Legends is a free-to-play royal battle game developed and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in the same universe as Titanfall on February 4, 2019. It had more than 25 million downloads and more than 2 million concurrent players one week after its release.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends is the hero shooter's battle royale game borrowing concepts 30 years after the Titanfall 2 events. Apex differs from most royal battle games by incorporating legends, pre-defined heroes with unique skills that fall into roles such as offence, defence, support and reconciliation. Players are grouped into three squads, each player selecting a unique legend, and up to 20 teams compete in each match. All teams start without equipment and are flown over the map of the game via dropships in a random direction from which they drop to any location on the map they can reach.

Teams scan the game map for weapons, munitions and other equipment while fighting to be the last standing team, while remaining on the map in a constantly decreasing safe zone. A player can be brought down to a vulnerable bleed-out state, so that they can only crawl to cover or reach a squadmate who can revive them. If the player bleeds out or an opponent uses a finisher move, they are eliminated and their equipment and a banner are dropped. If your squadmates recover this banner and take it to a spawn beacon scattered on the map in a limited amount of time, the player can potentially be repawned.

Apex Legends Characters

Apex has both voice-chat communication with squadmates and a single-button contextual communication approach that enables a player to ping map features such as weapons, opponents or rally points. Apex Legends is free to play and supported by microtransactions, allowing players to customize their selected character through numerous cosmetic items for legends and weapons, voice lines and banners in the game.
